About Czfuy
The Chamber of Free Zones of Uruguay (CZFUY) was established in October 2008 with the goal of strengthening the regime of free zones in Uruguay and promoting the development of business platforms from these zones. The community of entrepreneurs that make up CZFUY includes developers and users of the Uruguayan Free Zones, who have defined and validated the following objectives. The Chamber of Free Zones of Uruguay is proud to announce that starting in 2015, it became an active member with voting rights of the World Free Zones Organization (WFZO).
The WFZO is a non-profit entity based in Geneva, Switzerland, with operational headquarters in Dubai. Its aim is to represent the interests of Free Zones in international instances, provide knowledge about them, establish collaboration, dialogue, and guidance with countries that can benefit from the Free Zone model, and promote their advantages for the economy, trade, social development, and international investment. The WFZO's goal is to reaffirm the importance of free zones in international trade and to provide its members with services such as technical training, reports, studies, and statistics in their area of expertise.
Among the organization's plans are facilitating foreign trade, generating employment, industrializing developing countries, and promoting the security of the international logistics chain, in collaboration with organizations such as the World Trade Organization, the International Labor Organization, the World Customs Organization, the OECD, and UNIDO (the United Nations Industrial Development Organization)
