About Carbon Zero Institute of Trinidad and Tobago
Czitt is a brand committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting sustainability in Trinidad and Tobago. As a Small Island Developing State with a large carbon footprint and heavy reliance on oil and gas production, the brand recognizes the need to transition to cleaner and more sustainable activities. Czitt aims to support the country's commitments under the Paris Agreement and address the challenges of becoming carbon neutral and adapting to climate change.
Led by Donald Baldeosingh, a former State Oil Company Chair and social entrepreneur, Czitt collaborates with like-minded professionals to develop programmes and projects focused on research, engagement, policy influence, and promotions. Its mission is to ultimately achieve long-term energy, food, and water security, while enhancing the efficiency and diversification of Trinidad and Tobago's productive sectors. With a strong focus on teamwork, integrity, community building, collaboration, and leadership, Czitt envisions Trinidad and Tobago as a carbon-neutral nation admired for its sustainable practices.
