Dachsteingletscher

**Dachsteingletscher** is a renowned research project focused on the significant impacts of climate change on glaciers in Austria, specifically the Dachstein Glacier. Spearheaded by BlueSky and Mountain Research from Innsbruck since 2007, the initiative brings together a dedicated team committed to monitoring and studying the glacier's environmental status through advanced scientific methods.

The project includes an automated weather station located at Simonyhütte, operational since 2007, which continuously measures critical meteorological data such as temperature, humidity, and wind conditions. These valuable insights enable researchers to conduct detailed analyses of mass balances, assessing accumulation and ablation over time.

Additionally, the Dachsteingletscher features a high-resolution webcam offering real-time views of the glacier, further enhancing public engagement and awareness. The initiative provides regular updates on the glacier's health, documenting changes that reflect broader ecological challenges. By combining advanced technology and rigorous scientific inquiry, the Dachsteingletscher project serves as an essential resource for understanding climate change and its effects on mountainous ecosystems.
