Dagmar Kersten Coaching

Dagmar Kersten is a speaker, entrepreneur, martial arts practitioner and coach whose work draws on her experiences as an Olympic gymnast and elite athlete. A silver medalist at the Olympic Games, she began pursuing her ambition to become a world champion at age seven and rose to prominence as a gymnast just seven years later. Through keynote talks and coaching, Kersten shares an candid account of her journey, including the challenges of her sporting career, spinal injuries, doping abuse, bulimia and the personal cost of success.

She also describes her experience as a successful East German athlete, her application to leave the country and the resulting interruption to her education. After gymnastics, she built a second sporting career in karate.
