Daguerreobase is an innovative online platform dedicated to the collective cataloging and preservation of daguerreotype photography, Europe's earliest photographic form. This sophisticated application allows members to view, edit, and store comprehensive records of individual daguerreotypes, linking them through various characteristics such as collections, owners, creators, and materials. The rich database features contributions from notable institutions including the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and the National Media Museum in Bradford.

Additionally, Daguerreobase publishes the Daguerreotype Journal, a free-access multimedia quarterly that promotes public interest in the daguerreotype’s cultural and visual heritage through diverse themes and discussions. Completed by the European Daguerreotype Association (EDA), this project encourages contributions from enthusiasts, including undiscovered daguerreotypes from private collections.
