Dallas School of Historical Fencing (DSHF) is a HEMA club serving the Dallas–Fort Worth community from its location in Irving, Texas. Founded in 2017, the school grew from a passion for teaching German longsword and offers students the opportunity to explore historical swordplay through structured training and practice.
Classes include a beginner’s course, longsword training, rapier instruction, technical sessions, and open-floor practice. The school’s instructors bring experience in historical fencing, competition, and teaching, with backgrounds that include Liechtenauer’s German fencing tradition, Italian rapier, and British military swordsmanship. Instruction is designed to support both new and experienced fencers, with attention to technique, fundamentals, individual development, and the historical ideas behind the martial arts.
DSHF welcomes students interested in recreational practice as well as those pursuing competitive fencing. Regular classes and practice sessions are listed on its schedule, and prospective students can contact the school to learn more or sign up. The club is located at 940 N Belt Line Road, Suite 125, Irving, Texas.
