Damewood is a registered pedigree cat-breeding business run by David and Meredith White, established in 2019 and based in Casula, south-western New South Wales. The breeders specialise in British Shorthairs and Scottish Folds, with kittens available regularly. Their breeding registry is exclusively with Cats NSW Inc, affiliated with the Australian Cat Federation.
Damewood breeds traditional coat colours, including black, blue, chocolate, lilac, red and cream, as well as tortoiseshell patterns and bicolour cats with substantial white markings. The breeders note that kittens mature to the breed-standard golden or copper eye colour. Their breeding lines combine cats imported across generations with established Australian bloodlines.
The business aims to match each kitten’s personality with a suitable family, describing its placement process as a “reverse interview.” Prospective owners can enquire through the website, review the price guide and read information about the process. Damewood does not accept early deposits for unborn kittens. The cattery is located around 30 minutes from Sydney’s Kingsford Smith Airport and provides contact details for enquiries.
