About Albany Damien Center
The Albany Damien Center is a nonprofit resource center founded in 1988 to support people living with or affected by HIV and AIDS. Based in Albany, New York, its mission is to enhance the lives of individuals and families in an affirming environment while helping reduce new infections in the communities it serves. The organization offers free programs and services through a membership-based model, providing a welcoming, culturally diverse place to find support, practical resources, and connection with others who understand the experience of living with HIV.
Its services include behavioral health and family support, a Drop-In Living Room, housing assistance, Smart Meals, employment pathways, and PAWS Pharmacy Services. The center also offers an Employment Training Center of Expertise, an Equity Center, and programs connected with The NAMES Project. Through its broader work, the Albany Damien Center shares HIV resources, supports members, and invites community participation through volunteering, partnerships, and donations. Its services are intended to help people improve their health, reduce stress, and increase their quality of life.
