About Museum of Danish America
The Museum of Danish America is a national center that celebrates Danish roots and American dreams. Established in 1983 as The Danish Immigrant Museum, the name was changed to Museum of Danish America in 2013. Since its opening in 1994, the museum has been a hub for the Danish-American community.
At the museum, visitors can discover the fascinating story of Danish immigration from the mid-19th century to the present day. The museum showcases the rich traditions and ongoing relationship between Denmark and the United States. Through programs, exhibits, and special events, visitors can explore Danish-American communities spanning from New Jersey to California and from Texas to Alberta.
The museum also offers resources for genealogy research at the Genealogy & Education Center. Additionally, visitors can participate in outreach programs and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the museum, including the Jens Jensen Prairie Landscape Park.
