About Dankind Academy
Dankind Academy Basketball Kampala, Uganda is a humanitarian project that aims to bring about a brighter future through education, basketball, and construction initiatives in East Africa. Inspired by former NBA players Luol Deng and Manute Bol, the academy provides talented student-athletes with full athletic scholarships, mentoring, and training at a purpose-built basketball facility in Kampala. The ultimate goal is to develop preplanned communities for refugees returning to South Sudan and to combat adverse poverty in East Africa by creating cities that prioritize an adequate standard of living, relevant education, and a green energy environment.
Dankind Academy also offers a comprehensive program that includes daily training, education support, and full scholarships covering accommodation, food, uniforms, and access to library and computer facilities. Additionally, the academy hosts various events such as Giants of Africa camps, Luol Deng Camp, Midnight Madness, Fightball, FIBA 3X3 Qualifiers, and referee and coaching clinics.
