Danmarks Maritime Folkemøde is a Danish public event focused on ideas, debate and community within the maritime sector. First held in Korsør in August 2018 as part of Maritime Culture Week, it is organized with FGU Syd- og Vestsjælland (FGU SV) and has involved local government, businesses, maritime authorities, educational institutions, associations and cultural organizations. The event is held annually in week 34, with the next gathering scheduled for 28 August 2027.
The programme brings together participants for debates, conversations, interviews, talks and music in a shipyard setting with shared stages and café areas. Visitors can also encounter maritime entertainment, food and drink stalls, and activities alongside the harbour, including opportunities for floating attractions to berth. Organizations and individuals can take part by renting a stand, proposing and hosting a debate, or partnering with the event. These opportunities support the promotion of maritime products and organizations and encourage discussion of maritime challenges. The Folkemøde provides a meeting place for exchanging perspectives and building connections across Denmark’s maritime community.
