Società Dante Alighieri Comitato di Terni

The Società Dante Alighieri Committee of Terni is a local cultural organisation dedicated to promoting the Italian language and heritage in line with the wider goals of the Società Dante Alighieri. Its programme brings together literature, art, poetry, music, popular traditions and local history through public events, talks, performances, author presentations, guided visits and themed excursions. Activities are open to members, students of all ages and the wider community, helping make Italian culture accessible to diverse audiences.

Recurring initiatives include “Italiani di qualità,” which celebrates notable Italians and their stories of talent, commitment and passion, and “L’angolo dell’Autore,” featuring encounters with writers and their books. The committee also marks Dantedì with performances inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy, combining spoken word, theatre and music. In addition to its cultural programme, the Terni committee is an authorised PLIDA certification centre.

It offers Italian-language proficiency examinations for non-native speakers, covering levels A1 to C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The organisation is based in Terni, Italy
