The Amman Committee of “Società Dante Alighieri” is a prominent non-profit association established in 2004 in Jordan, dedicated to promoting the Italian language and culture. With 25 committed members, the organization serves as a cultural hub for the Italian community within the Hashemite Kingdom. Affiliated with the Rome-based Società Dante Alighieri, which operates over 450 committees worldwide, the Amman branch offers a range of educational programs, including Italian language courses for both adults and children, and hosts various cultural events such as film screenings, lectures, music, and theater performances.

The center also functions as an official venue for the PLIDA language competency certificate and boasts a well-resourced library featuring Italian books and DVDs. In collaboration with the Italian Embassy and other cultural organizations, the committee hosts events like the Italian Language Week and promotes culinary traditions. As part of the Eunic Jordan cluster, it further fosters cultural exchanges and contributes to a deeper appreciation of Italy’s rich heritage in Jordan.
