Daqin Saga is a historical-fiction project that imagines an encounter between the Roman Empire and China’s Three Kingdoms during a pivotal moment in Roman history. Set in A.D. 248, the story follows Quon and Sun Xu Li, two travelers from the East who arrive in Rome as Philip the Arab’s rule falters and Decius rises to power. Their presence places them amid political upheaval, betrayal, and a new persecution of Christians, while giving each traveler personal reasons to influence how events unfold.
Written by Matthew Quinn Martin, Daqin Saga presents an alternate-history narrative exploring how contact between East and West might have changed the course of history. The project invites readers to follow the unfolding story and join its fictional civilization as founding citizens. It also offers a Dark Marble bust to mint as a piece of the saga’s history.
