Darcy Gerbarg

Darcy Gerbarg is a fine artist and pioneer digital artist whose practice brings together abstract expressionist painting, digital technologies, and traditional fine art techniques. She describes herself as a painter, using colored light and virtual reality to create immersive, three-dimensional compositions. These works are not limited to the virtual environment: Gerbarg crops images from her VR light sculptures and translates them into finished paintings on canvas, where digital shading creates the appearance of dimensional brushstrokes.

Her work also explores augmented reality, including AR-enhanced paintings and sculptural elements, as well as light sculptures and billboard paintings. Gerbarg presents her art through exhibitions, immersive experiences, and online features, with selected exhibitions at galleries, museums, and arts centers in the United States and Europe. Her website offers information about current and past exhibitions, artworks, artist statements, publications, and exhibition catalogs.
