The Pirates of the Dark Rose is a professional pirate-for-hire group serving events along the East Coast, from Maine to Florida. The crew specializes in live demonstrations and entertainment involving cannons, cutlasses, and rapiers, including pirate duels, sword fights, parade appearances, and cannon displays. For some engagements, the group can bring its topsail gaff yawl, the MUST ROOS, to the harbor for a pirate attack performance.

The Dark Rose Pirates also offer living-history encampments, setting up beneath a tent made from old sails and sharing an immersive pirate-themed presence at events. Their party and educational services include birthday celebrations, youth-group activities, and school programs, with offerings tailored to the age range and time available. The crew’s members have appeared on the History Channel, Discovery Channel, and in documentaries. Visitors can explore stories, photographs, and videos documenting the group’s performances and activities. The website also provides booking and media-request information, safety guidelines, links, and a ship’s store.
