Dark Sky Land

Dark Sky Land, Inc. is a multidisciplinary organization based in New Mexico, working to connect people with themselves, the land, nature, imagination, and the cosmos. Its mission is to raise awareness of the night sky and natural world through direct experiences of darkness and wilderness. The organization aims to establish a 200-mile Astro-Wilderness Corridor in a region known for exceptionally dark skies, wildlife, and an important nocturnal bird migration route. Its conservation work focuses on protecting natural darkness, supporting biodiversity, and engaging Native neighbors and rural communities.

Dark Sky Land brings together astronomy, wilderness conservation, science, art, and community participation through events, collaborations, educational experiences, and a traveling exhibition series. Its offerings include opportunities for astronomical observation, multidisciplinary gatherings, site-specific installations, and immersive experiences intended to encourage restoration, reflection, and connection. The organization also maintains a film and media archive and shares content through online channels. Visitors and supporters can explore events and local points of interest, book an astronomer, donate, or participate in its Support a Star program.
