Darmstädter Lauf-Treff

Darmstädter Lauf-Treff is a community-based, non-commercial running and walking initiative in Darmstadt, Germany, founded in 1974. It welcomes people of different abilities, including beginners, and helps participants find a comfortable pace while exercising outdoors in a guided group. Activities include jogging, walking, and Nordic walking, with volunteer team members leading groups at varied speeds. Regular starting points include the parking area at Merck Stadion on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and Oberförsterwiese on Tuesdays. The group also shares information and resources related to endurance exercise and Nordic walking, and hosts events including the Hutzellauf. Its organization and running support have received the German Athletics Association’s “Sehr Gut” quality seal.
