The Akademische Sektion München (DAV-ASM) is a section of the German Alpine Club with a history of more than 100 years. It brings together people who value nature-oriented mountain sports, a welcoming community and alpine adventures. The section offers activities for adults and young people, including organized mountain tours, climbing and bouldering, skiing outings, and opportunities to take part in group events and training.
Its youth program includes several climbing groups for children and teenagers, with sessions at Kletterzentrum Thalkirchen. Beginners can learn climbing, bouldering and belaying, while participants with experience can develop their skills in independent climbing and lead climbing. The DAV-ASM also arranges outings and tours in the Alps, with trip reports documenting activities such as hiking and climbing.
Members can explore the section’s program, join its community and access information about its mountain huts, including the Otto-Leixl and Bernadein huts, as well as accommodation in Fischbachau. Through its clubs, facilities and shared adventures, the section supports mountain sport across generations
