DAV Starnberg

Sektion Starnberg is a local section of the German Alpine Club, serving around 2,700 members with opportunities to explore the mountains, develop outdoor skills and connect with fellow enthusiasts. Its annual programme includes guided walks, mountain and high-alpine tours, climbing trips, and ski and snowshoe outings for beginners and more experienced participants. The section also offers an active youth programme, with climbing groups for different ages and a family group.

Members and visitors can make use of the association’s clubhouse, which hosts events, talks and regular social gatherings. On site, there is an outdoor climbing tower and a small indoor bouldering room. The section also provides equipment rental and minibus rental, and maintains alpine facilities including the Hörnlehütte and Hohenzollernhaus. Regular activities include a monthly Sportlertreff and Thursday evening gatherings for sharing tour ideas and experiences. Through its courses, events, volunteer work parties and information on mountain conditions and the alpine environment, Sektion Starnberg supports both outdoor recreation and engagement with the mountains.
