David Outhwaite’s paintings

David Outhwaite is a contemporary artist whose original paintings explore the relationship between the microscopic and the vast universe. Drawing inspiration from nature, lichens, images of Earth from space, and subatomic particle theory, he blends recognizable forms with abstraction and imaginative elements. His layered compositions bring together light, color, texture, and energetic brushwork, sometimes juxtaposing subjects such as irises and outer space.

Outhwaite offers original landscape and abstract paintings across collections spanning 2015 to 2025, including the Iris and Space series and smaller works. His practice encompasses contemporary, realistic, and abstract landscapes, as well as nature-inspired conceptual art. Collectors can browse available paintings, inquire about purchasing artwork, or commission a custom piece developed around their concept, space, and aesthetic preferences. He also works with homeowners, interior designers, and commercial clients to help select art for their environments. With an artistic journey dating to 1970, Outhwaite brings decades of exploration and evolving technique to his work.
