Dawn Hill Swedish Antiques, located in New Preston, CT, is a brand built on the passion of its founders, John and Paulette Peden. With over twenty years of experience, Dawn Hill specializes in sourcing unique and decorative Swedish antiques, clocks, and furniture. Step into their store and you'll be transported to a scene straight out of an Ingmar Bergman movie.
The pale Swedish décor sets the stage for exquisite furniture and clocks in cool Gustavian shades of white and grey. Paulette Peden, with a career focused on creative work, initially fell in love with a Swedish mora clock and its beautiful patina and feminine design. This sparked a quest for the best examples of Swedish furniture, with a particular dedication to finding period pieces with original paint, construction, and surface details.
John Peden, a skilled photographer, expanded the business to include garden antiques, antique lighting, vintage musical instruments, and quirky objects collected on their frequent trips to Europe. His keen eye aids in the selection of truly striking merchandise. As a testament to their commitment to quality and integrity, Paulette Peden serves on the board of directors of the Antiques Council, an international group of antiques dealers dedicated to educating the public and maintaining the highest standards.
