About Day of the Devs
Day of the Devs is a vibrant initiative founded in 2012 by Double Fine Productions and iam8bit, dedicated to celebrating the creativity and diversity of video games. This nonprofit organization shines a spotlight on emerging and underrepresented talent in the gaming industry, connecting players with developers while fostering a rich gaming culture. Over the last decade, Day of the Devs has hosted thousands of attendees at their in-person festivals and reached millions through widely viewed virtual showcases, all offered free of charge to both developers and participants.
Their flagship annual event in San Francisco highlights 60-70 unreleased games and features live performances from renowned video game composers. Additionally, the organization collaborates with platforms like Summer Game Fest and The Game Awards to present virtual showcases, spotlighting a diverse selection of games and creators.
