DayStar Filters is an American solar-observation equipment brand that has helped people observe the Sun safely since 1973. Operating as DayStar Instruments LLC, the company makes its products at its factory in Warrensburg, Missouri. Its range includes solar filters and dedicated solar telescopes, including the Sol Series in 60mm, 80mm, 100mm, and 130mm models. The Sol telescopes are shipping and feature a standard dual-speed rack-and-pinion focuser.
For observers who already own a refractor telescope, DayStar offers Quark products that can adapt compatible equipment for solar viewing. Its selection also includes Quantum filters for several solar wavelengths, calcium and sodium filters, energy rejection filters, white-light telescope filters, eclipse glasses, and accessories such as solar finders, focal reducers, Barlows, and filter wheels. The company also sells nighttime and day/night telescopes.
DayStar supports customers with educational resources, manuals, FAQs, and guidance on finding the Sun and using filters safely. Its services include filter restoration and upgrades, alongside product information, dealer access, and a gallery of observing experiences.
