Dazugehören e. V. is an interdisciplinary German association focused on inclusion, child protection, and support for children and young people experiencing mental illness or trauma.
Its name, meaning “belonging,” comes from the motto of the 2017 congress of the German Society for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy, held in Ulm. The motto originated in a project at the Hans-Lebrecht-School, which supports students receiving extended hospital treatment, and highlights the importance of participation and inclusion. The association was founded in November 2017 to carry this message forward.
Its work includes providing well-founded information to professionals and volunteers who work with children and young people. Through its online journal, Dazugehören shares news about the association’s activities, events, and projects connected with the Ulm Clinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy. The journal also covers child and adolescent mental health, child protection, children’s rights, and the prevention of violence, including sexualised violence.
