The Don’t Be a Bully Project uses entertainment and positive peer influence to help end bullying and prevent bullying-related youth suicides. Its programs aim to equip students and school communities with practical ways to build safer, more inclusive environments. The project focuses on the effects of bullying, which it describes as especially severe in middle school, and encourages peers to support those targeted and challenge harmful behavior.
Its initiatives combine performance, youth leadership, and confidence-building. “We Don’t Do That Here!” is a 30-minute musical presented by high school students for middle school audiences. The production empowers students who are targeted, redirects those engaging in bullying, and encourages bystanders to intervene. “21 Under 21” is a concert and fashion show featuring and produced by young people, celebrating the talents of youth and young adults who have experienced bullying. Confidence Clubs offer a 32-week curriculum with engaging activities and confidence-building strategies developed by an entertainment industry veteran.
The project also offers intervener training and resources, including anti-bullying materials for schools.
