DBT-JRF

The DBT-Junior Research Fellowship (DBT-JRF) Programme, initiated by the Department of Biotechnology under the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Government of India, is a pivotal initiative designed to foster research in biotechnology and life sciences. Established in 2004, the programme aims to nurture skilled researchers by providing fellowships to pursue Ph. D.

studies at recognized universities and institutions across India. Eligible candidates are selected through the annual Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET), with results categorizing fellows into two merit lists, in alignment with government reservation norms. The programme is overseen by the DBT-HRD Project & Management Unit located at the Regional Centre of Biotechnology in Faridabad, which serves as the main implementation agency.

The DBT-JRF Programme not only enhances academic research capacity but also significantly contributes to India's advancements in critical biotechnological fields. For the latest updates, resources, and information about fellowship opportunities, interested individuals can visit the official website
