Dcery politických vězňů is a Czech project dedicated to preserving and sharing the personal stories of people whose families were affected by political imprisonment under the communist regime. Through first-person accounts and family memories, the site documents how arrests, secret trials, harsh sentences, forced labor, and surveillance shaped the lives of prisoners’ children and relatives. The stories describe separation from parents, poverty, restricted visits, pressure on mothers, and the lasting effects of imprisonment and persecution. They also reflect the courage, solidarity, and family bonds that endured despite these experiences.

The project presents individual testimonies by named contributors, including daughters who recall their fathers’ arrests, imprisonment, and returns, as well as accounts of relatives who were themselves sentenced. Its website offers a collection of stories, news and updates, information about the project and its organizers, and contact details. An English-language option is also available. By making these memories accessible, Dcery politických vězňů helps ensure that the experiences of political prisoners’ families remain part of the historical record and public understanding.
