About Disaster Competence Network Austria
DCNA (Disaster Competence Network Austria) is Austria’s leading platform for security and disaster research. As a cooperation platform, DCNA brings together universities and research institutions to bundle Austria’s expertise in this field. Their primary goal is to transfer scientific insights into practice through collaborative research and educational activities with stakeholders.
DCNA offers a range of services to support disaster management and prevention efforts. They provide technical infrastructure for research activities and operations, including evaluation and training of disaster management exercises and concepts. They also focus on facilitating processes of participation and change.
Moreover, DCNA specializes in analyzing and optimizing crisis and risk communication. As research partners in the field of disaster prevention and management, DCNA conducts cutting-edge research to develop innovative solutions. With 20 ordinary members, 8 associate members, and 15 dedicated employees, DCNA leads 17 ongoing projects to address various aspects of disaster prevention and management.
