De Buitenband

De Buitenband is a cycling excursion service founded by Benita for people who would like to cycle but can no longer do so independently or feel unable to ride alone. It welcomes people of all ages, including those with physical, mental or visual disabilities, acquired brain injury, anxiety, or loneliness. Benita brings an electric tandem bicycle to customers so they can enjoy a ride together, seated side by side and able to talk along the way.

Excursions can follow established local routes or be planned together to suit individual interests. Suggested outings include blossom orchards in Gelderland, Roman roads in Land van Cuijk, public artworks in the Betuwe and Park Lingezegen. Rides can be booked once or arranged regularly, and a walking stick or rollator can be taken along. The stable tandem is designed to feel safe, and passengers can choose how much they pedal. De Buitenband also offers a free trial ride, giving participants a chance to experience cycling outdoors, enjoy companionship and rediscover a sense of freedom.
