About de-IPCC
The German Climate Computing Center (DKRZ) is a central national service facility for climate and Earth system research in Germany. It provides cutting-edge high-performance computers, data storage, and services that form the core research infrastructure for simulation-based climate science in the country. In addition to computational power, storage capacity, and technical support for model calculations, DKRZ offers a wide range of tailored services.
It develops and maintains user software relevant to climate research, advises and assists users on IT issues, and engages in national and international projects and collaborations to enhance climate modeling infrastructure. Established in Hamburg in 1987, DKRZ is a non-profit GmbH with four shareholders, including Max-Planck Society and Helmholtz Association. Supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, DKRZ provides resources free of charge to scientists working in Earth system research.
With over 100 employees, mainly in natural or computer sciences, DKRZ is dedicated to unlocking the full potential of technological advancements for climate research
