de Sjeesköttels

De Sjeesköttels is a carnival association and float-building group founded in 1991 by a circle of friends from Rossum, in the Netherlands. The association brings members together to create elaborate carnival floats and costumes for parades across Twente. Its work combines hands-on building with the coordination of committees and other roles that help keep the group running. Members can take part in the preparations at the association’s workshop, which is open each evening from 6:30 p.m. during the build period.

The group has earned recognition at local and regional events. In 2015, De Sjeesköttels placed third in Oldenzaal and first in Rossum; in 2016, it won second place in Oldenzaal and again took first place in Rossum. The association welcomes new members, with options for supporting members and for members under or over 18. Businesses can also support the group through sponsorship, gaining a website listing and prominent logo placement in the workshop. De Sjeesköttels offers a community-centered way to celebrate carnival through creativity, teamwork, and parade participation.
