Deadgame Fight School

Deadgame Fight School is a Jacksonville, Florida, boxing and mixed martial arts gym founded in 2003. Established by Josh “The Irishman” Rutgers, a retired undefeated professional boxer with experience in boxing, bare-knuckle competition, and MMA, the school is led by coaches with backgrounds in competitive fighting, athlete training, and cornering bouts. Its team includes Michael “Knight Rider” Knight, a full-time coach with experience in boxing, Muay Thai, kickboxing, and MMA, and Amar “Big Scary” Cox, a former amateur MMA champion.

The gym welcomes a diverse community of members, including beginners, children, women, men, retired athletes, and competitive fighters. Its services include boxing and MMA training, one-on-one coaching, and a youth boxing program held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5 to 6 p.m. The school emphasizes honest coaching, perseverance, and mutual support rather than making claims to be the best. Deadgame asks prospective visitors to call or text ahead to schedule an appointment, as coaches are often working directly with members. The youth program is listed at $150 per month.
