Through their Hauora service, they provide nationwide support in areas such as needs assessment, coordination, and applications for assistive equipment. Their Employment service helps Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals find and maintain successful employment, offering both pre-employment and in-work support for both employees and employers. With a commitment to empowering Deaf individuals at every stage of life, Deaf Aotearoa strives to ensure that Deaf people have access to the resources, information, and skills they need to achieve their goals and lead independent lives.

As an active participant in the World Federation of the Deaf and the New Zealand representative, Deaf Aotearoa plays a significant role in advocating for the Deaf community on both a national and international level
