About Deaf Children Australia
Deaf Children Australia is a brand dedicated to supporting the communication needs of deaf and hard of hearing children. Their flagship program, Puggles Swim, is Australia's first nationally endorsed learn-to-swim program specifically designed for deaf children. Developed in partnership with AUSTSWIM, Swim Coaches and Teachers Australia, and leading swim course developers, instructors, and deaf elite swimmers, Puggles Swim offers an interactive online course for accredited swim instructors.
These specially trained instructors, known as Puggles Skippers, are equipped to teach deaf and hard of hearing children how to swim in mainstream classes. By providing accessible swimming lessons, Deaf Children Australia aims to give every child the opportunity to learn this essential life skill and participate in mainstream activities. Their vision is to create inclusive communities and ensure that deaf and hard of hearing children have the same opportunities as their hearing peers
