Dean Forest Railway is a heritage railway offering scenic train rides and experiences in the Forest of Dean. Its 4.5-mile line travels through woodland and countryside, recreating the relaxed pace of a traditional country branch line and serving five stations. Visitors can explore nearby woodland walks, country pubs and Lydney Harbour, with views across the Severn Estuary.

The railway operates steam and heritage diesel services, including standard train rides, day rovers and journeys on a heritage diesel railcar. Its programme also features special events and bookable experiences such as Santa Specials, evening fish and chip trains, cream teas on board, first-class journeys, murder mystery trips, galas and driving or signalling experiences. Some experiences include meals or refreshments served during the journey.

Dean Forest Railway also welcomes visitors to discover its museum, locomotives and rolling stock, and offers gift certificates. The railway is maintained and operated with support from volunteers, whose work helps preserve the line and create an engaging day out for families, railway enthusiasts and visitors to the area.
