About DE ANIMA
De Anima is a scholarly journal published by the Instituto De Anima (IDA), dedicated to promoting and disseminating scientific research on the human mind through an Aristotelian-Thomist psychological approach. Its content explores questions relevant to mental life and related disciplines, connecting this philosophical tradition with fields such as psychiatry, psychology, specialized nursing, philosophy, anthropology and sociology. The journal is intended for teachers, researchers and professionals, while also welcoming undergraduate and postgraduate students and other readers interested in these subjects.
De Anima publishes journal issues featuring editorials and research articles. Its sixth issue, released in 2026, presents papers from a 2025 Thomistic Psychology Symposium held at an international psychiatry and psychology congress in Spain. Topics include anxiety and neurophysiology, the effectiveness of psychotherapies for generalized anxiety disorder, a proposed Thomistic psychotherapeutic protocol, digital recruitment for clinical trials, and comparisons between cognitive behavioral therapy and Thomistic psychology. Through its publications, the journal contributes to the exchange and wider dissemination of research on the mind and Thomistic psychology.
