Kinderdagverblijf De Bezige Bijtjes is a small-scale childcare centre in a rural setting between Enter and Wierden in the Netherlands. It cares for children from birth to four years old in a warm, homelike atmosphere, with a focus on calm, individual attention, routine, nature, animals and enjoyment. Children spend as much time outdoors as possible, exploring a green play area designed with natural materials and opportunities for imaginative play. They also help care for the animals.

The centre structures each day around children’s needs, with familiar daily rituals and set times for meals, drinks and sleep; babies can follow their own rhythms. De Bezige Bijtjes uses the Uk & Puk early childhood education programme, which supports children’s development through active play and activities. These encourage language and communication, social and emotional skills, motor and sensory abilities, and early numeracy.

The centre provides information for families on enrolment, schedules, fees, policies and childcare arrangements. Parents can also arrange a tour to learn more about the setting and its approach.
