De Blije Egel

De Blije Egel is a Dutch family business creating sustainable, thoughtfully designed shelters that help make gardens and other outdoor spaces more welcoming to native wildlife. Its handmade products are made in the Netherlands from natural materials, including Douglas fir wood, and are designed with animal safety in mind. The range includes hedgehog sleeping houses and feeding houses, birdhouses, bat boxes, and insect hotels in several styles and sizes. Some shelters feature a sedum roof and ventilation, combining practical design with a natural appearance.

For individuals, De Blije Egel offers products for supporting hedgehogs, garden birds, bats, and insects at home. The brand also works with businesses and organisations, offering tailored biodiversity plans that combine wildlife shelters with information for visitors or local communities. These plans are intended for projects ranging from business sites to area developments and municipalities. Through its products and services, De Blije Egel aims to create more space for native species and contribute to greener, more wildlife-friendly surroundings.
