The Decatur Gators Swim Team is a youth swimming program based in Decatur, Georgia, and a member of the Atlanta Swim Association. The team welcomes swimmers ages 5 to 18, from beginners learning the four basic strokes to experienced participants working to improve their times. Coaches provide instruction in a safe environment, with an emphasis on skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and an enjoyable introduction to competitive swimming.
No tryouts are required for the Fall League, though the coaching staff evaluates swimmers aged six and under to determine their readiness for the program. Fall League practices begin August 4 and take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with swim meets on Saturday mornings. The season concludes with a championship meet at Marist.
Swimmers can participate in meets and earn placement ribbons while enjoying the team experience. The Gators also offer a Junior Gators program and a summer league, alongside team information, practice guidance, meet resources, equipment and team suits, and a team store. Registration and team updates are available online
