Decorators Supply is a third-generation family business that offers the most authentic collection of classic ornaments in the country. With a rich history dating back to 1885, we employed over twenty master carvers and modelers who immigrated to Chicago from Europe during or shortly after the World's Columbian Exposition of 1893. These European artisans created master carvings and molds that we have preserved until today, ensuring that the ornaments we manufacture maintain a direct lineage to their craftsmanship.

At Decorators Supply, we have three distinct shops and product lines. Our Wood Composition Shop manufactures over 16,000 ornaments for woodwork-furniture and walls & ceilings. Composed of all-natural materials, wood composition, or compo, has been used since ancient times and offers fantastic detail and classic detailing.

In our Plaster Shop, we hand cast products using historic molds for exquisite detail. Made from all-natural ingredients, including #1 molding plaster and reinforcing hemp, our plaster products are the material of choice for homes of distinction, including ceiling medallions, tracery ceilings, and ornamental wall and ceiling accents. Lastly, our Wood Shop crafts furniture-grade products that are hand-assembled by union craftsmen.

Unique to the industry, we manufacture our designs utilizing hand-milled wood forms, adorned with composition ornaments. Our wood shop offers the largest selection of interior column capitals and pilaster capitals in the country.
