De DoorSlag

Nieuwegeinse Roeivereniging De DoorSlag is a welcoming rowing club based at Utrechthaven on the Merwede Canal in Nieuwegein. Rowing has been part of the club since 2004, and its members range from 18 to 90 years old. The club welcomes beginners and experienced rowers, offering opportunities to participate at different skill levels and for a variety of interests.

Newcomers can join a beginner’s rowing course, starting in a C4 boat with guidance from trained instructors. Experienced members can row or receive coaching in boats including single sculls, doubles and quadruple sculls. Weekly training is available at suitable levels, while more experienced rowers can arrange to row together. The club also supports recreational, marathon and competitive rowing, coaching, and organized spring and summer tours.

Facilities include a large boathouse, changing rooms and a clubhouse with a waterside roof terrace. De DoorSlag invites prospective members to visit, ask questions and try rowing, with the club offering a tour and help finding a suitable group and boat.
