About Deepam Odissi
Deepam Odissi Academy, founded in 1994 by Guru Deepak Roy, is a distinguished dance school in Oman dedicated to the art of Odissi. With roots from a master disciple of renowned Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra, Deepam embodies a commitment to nurturing the lyrical elegance and precision inherent in Odissi dance. Under the leadership of Aishwarya Hegde, who became Artistic Director in 2018, the academy has thrived, extending its outreach to both adults and children.
Deepam offers a diverse array of programs, including Odissi classes, workshops, and intensive learning opportunities tailored for students at various levels. The academy seeks to create awareness and appreciation for Odissi through public demonstrations and engaging introductory sessions for beginners.
