Deep South Freediving

Deep South Freediving is a Tasmania-based freediving school offering courses, training, ocean experiences and community events. Its certified instructors combine more than 15 years of experience with a personalised, safety-focused approach, helping participants progress at their own pace and build confidence in the water.

The school offers Level 1, Level 2 Advanced and Level 3 Master freediver courses, as well as introductory sessions, private coaching and breathwork training. Pool and shore-based ocean sessions help students practise breath-holding, equalisation and core freediving skills before exploring open water. Other experiences include boat dives, Eaglehawk Neck deep-dive days, dives with seals and giant kelp forest training, alongside PADI scuba diving. Deep South also runs retreats, including Deep South Reset in Bicheno, and social and conservation events.

Beyond instruction, the brand fosters a supportive community through group training, shared dive trips and opportunities to connect with fellow ocean enthusiasts. Deep South presents freediving as a way to explore Tasmania’s underwater environment while developing calm, confidence and connection.
