DefDex

DefDex is a data and research platform that maps the U.S. defense industrial base, connecting federal spending with the companies, programs, systems, and supply chains behind defense capabilities. Its coverage spans prime contractors, emerging “neoprimes,” suppliers, startups, government buyers, and the technologies they support. The site reports contract awards and obligations from FY2008 onward, alongside company funding rounds, acquisition programs, military systems, platform costs, industrial capabilities, and supply-chain information.

DefDex brings these records together in searchable trackers and scoreboards, helping users explore who receives contracts, which agencies buy, and where funding goes. Its published data includes more than 4,200 companies, over 2.5 million awards, 116 programs, and thousands of systems. The platform also features defense and space news, company and technology coverage, and practical guides for founders on entering the sector, accelerators, SBIR and STTR funding, government innovation programs, and regional ecosystems.
