De Gamlas Hem r.f. is a nonprofit association in Kristiinankaupunki, Finland, providing housing and care services for older people. Its work is guided by a commitment to good care and attentive support, delivered through a hybrid service model. The association offers round-the-clock supported living, rental housing, home care and additional support services. Its 18 places in round-the-clock care are intended mainly for local older people, though applicants from elsewhere may also be considered. New residents are selected in cooperation with the Ostrobothnia Wellbeing Services County, with each person’s needs assessed individually.
The grounds also include nine rental homes. Residents there can arrange professional home-care and support services, and eligible people may receive a service voucher. De Gamlas Hem’s own kitchen prepares home-style meals daily; lunch can be enjoyed on site or ordered for home delivery for a fee. Residents can also take part in recreational activities led by the unit’s activity coordinator and supported by volunteers.
