Downeast Horizons is a Maine-based organization that assists adults and children with developmental disabilities, supporting them in living complete and fulfilling lives. Serving communities from Bar Harbor to Brewer, the organization provides services across Hancock, Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Waldo counties. Its team of approximately 130 employees supports around 200 adults.

For children, Downeast Horizons offers services focused on behavior management, physical and social development, self-maintenance, fitness, self-awareness, and motivation. Programs also address sensory, motor, and psychological needs, with the goal of building skills, improving functioning, and reducing maladaptive behaviors. Adult services include direct support, community supports, hourly home supports, shared living, residential supports, and work supports. The organization also offers social programs, autism awareness activities, and specialized services.

Downeast Horizons encourages program participants to take part in community activities, including Special Olympics, and organizes events such as a Color Fun 5K and Autism Walk. Families and community members can learn about eligibility, volunteer, join the Parent Alliance, or contribute through donations, an endowment fund, and other giving opportunities.
