About De Hoop Collection
De Hoop Collection offers accommodation and nature-based experiences within South Africa’s De Hoop Nature Reserve and Marine Protected Area, renowned for land-based Southern Right whale watching. Set amid fynbos, beaches, dunes, wetlands and mountains, the reserve is home to diverse wildlife, including bontebok, Cape Mountain zebra and endangered Cape vultures.
Guests can choose from a range of stays, including cottages, suites, houses, villas, a village, campsites and rondawels. Options include family-friendly accommodation and the newly launched De Hoop Villa. The collection also welcomes day visitors to the Fig Tree Restaurant, which is open daily.
Activities include hiking and trail experiences, mountain biking, bird watching, nature drives, vulture viewing, interpretive marine walks and guided eco boat trips. Visitors can also enjoy swimming and snorkelling in rock pools, explore the area’s archaeological heritage through the Origins of Early Southern Sapiens Behaviour exhibition, or discover nearby attractions and the Elim Wine Route. De Hoop Collection hosts events such as art workshops, weddings and conferences, and offers seasonal promotions and family programmes.
