Deister Ruhe Forst

RuheForst Deister offers a natural alternative to conventional burial, providing urn interment in a peaceful woodland setting. The service is designed for people seeking a personal, dignified and nature-oriented farewell, with the forest’s quiet surroundings and changing seasons offering comfort to family and friends. Rather than calling a burial place a grave, RuheForst describes it as a “RuheBiotop,” or resting biotope.

People can learn about the concept and receive guidance during their lifetime, become familiar with the site, and choose a final resting place among the area’s old, natural woodland. RuheForst Deister also provides information for visitors and those arranging a burial, along with details about travel and orientation. Guided visits and memorial services are available, helping visitors understand the location and its approach to woodland burial. The website introduces the RuheForst concept, woodland management, practical information, the team and partner organisations, and answers to frequently asked questions. With an emphasis on individual choice, dignity and affordability, RuheForst Deister supports families looking for a respectful farewell connected to nature.
