Delaware Audubon

Delaware Audubon Society is a statewide chapter of the National Audubon Society and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit incorporated in 1977. Its mission is to foster appreciation of Delaware’s natural environment and promote the conservation of wildlife species and habitats. The organization focuses its efforts on issues affecting Delaware Bay and the Coastal Zone, combining environmental advocacy with public programs and school education.

Delaware Audubon shares resources on plants, birds, and birding, including guidance on gardening for birds, backyard bird feeding, habitat islands, and birdwatching for children. Its educational topics also include horseshoe crabs and Red Knots, as well as chimney swift towers. Through programs such as Audubon Adventures, events, and conservation grants, the society supports learning and conservation efforts across the state. It publishes news and information about local birding, wildlife, and conservation projects, including nest boxes and chimney swift nesting structures.
